“I was born in 1945 and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. During my formative youth, I had a casual interest in art. By the sixties, the casual interest became a passion and eventually an all-consuming obsession.

I enrolled in the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Commerce, which seemed to be a sensible choice at the time. However, during the three years, I spent in Commerce, my creative urges could not be ignored.

Winning first prize in the Manisphere Art Exhibit & Competition in the seventies gave me a newfound confidence. I had a voracious appetite to learn about fine art, which led me to enroll in a variety of art classes in the evenings, working in the advertising industry during the day. I had some terrific art instructors who encouraged me to challenge myself.

Creating fine art while managing my own advertising art studio for ten years was draining but it broadened my expertise.

The result is my work has been on a tour from Regina to Ottawa, with a Saskatchewan art group. Some pieces are in Spain and a commissioned drawing is owned by the Rose Marie Collection in North Carolina, USA.”
